Overall, the portion sizes are much bigger, the menu is more compelling, and the packaging is second to none for trayed meals.

BistroMDprovides its customers with high quality physician-designed meals prepared by chefs. A physician provides the nutritional standards for the recipes that chefs use to make these delicious meals.
I purchased the five day meal plan for $129, which makes each meal $8.60. The only meal I didn't think was worth $8.60 was the bagel sandwich breakfast, but I salute them for using a real egg white instead of one of those processed, machine made omelets. The bagel isn't a good match with the microwave, and some cheese would have been nice.

I couldn't agree with your feelings any more! I tried them a few years ago and did not think their food was anything special, but I seem to keep coming back when I want to buy an online diet plan. I think they have the most convenient packaging in the diet world for people that want to take meals to work. For the price, they are an excellent value.

Chef Piquanti's Review for BistroMD
In addition to the expertise of a physician, this meal service supplies the customer with the support of a dietitian who will help them accomplish weight loss.
They will take the work out of eating for weight loss by eliminating meal planning, preparation and calorie counting.
Meals are prepared fresh and delivered to the customer's door frozen. Once received, it is as simple as heating and eating.
It has been some while since I last tried diet meals from BistroMD, and I have to say I am quite impressed with how far they have come.
Below you will see some of the products I have tried from this supplier. My review scoring is simple: I give each meal a thumbs up or a thumbs down based on the quality of the meal at the price I paid for it. A thumbs up means I would buy it again at the posted price.
I also take into consideration everything I think would be important to a consumer, including the shipping process, the condition of the goods received, the packaging, and the ease and quality of the reheating process. Below is my BistroMD review based on the prepared meals I have tried.

The pulled pork would have received a thumbs down just for the notion of people thinking if you add BBQ sauce to pork, it is BBQ.
However, my personal pet-peeve aside, the pork was delicious, as was the corn. The baked beans could have been more plentiful, and even with the sauce, the meal passed the $8.60 value mark.
Everything was outstanding! I received five thick slices of roasted turkey breast, which automatically covered the cost of the meal, in my opinion.
The Steak House Wrap was like the best stuffed pepper you have ever had, and the creamed spinach was right on. The portion size was huge, too!
The chili and pudding may have been my favorite and, again, another giant portion size. The Moroccan Inspired Chicken was also very good and flavorful with spice without being too hot. The stuffed French toast was huge improvement to the last version of this dish I had.
Breakfast was the same crepes with different sides. Some egg dishes would have been nice. The Pot Roast was amazingly tender, and the Blackened Tilapia was a home run. All good sized portions, too.
At $8.60 per meal, none of this food tastes like diet food and would satisfy anyone looking for prepared meals, just for the convenience of them in the house.
