Omaha Steaks Reviews

About Omaha Steaks

Omaha Steaks is a company dedicated to delivering top quality meats. They offer the best selection of steaks, with a promise that each piece of meat will outdo any other steak or your money back.
Below you will see some of the products I have tried from this supplier. My review scoring is simple: I give each meal a thumbs up or a thumbs down based on the quality of the meal at the price I paid for it. A thumbs up means I would buy it again at the posted price.

I also take into consideration everything I think would be important to a consumer. This includes the shipping process, the condition of the goods received, the packaging, and the ease and quality of the reheating process.

Below is my Omaha Steaks review based on the prepared meals I have tried. Please join my newsletter to get updates on other products I have tried, or come back and look for more of my Omaha Steaks reviews.

I think everyone is well aware of the inexpensive "special offers" Omaha Steaks uses in ads on the Internet and in the newspapers. Something like $39 or $79 worth of steaks plus free burgers or a steak knife set. What most people don't know, this that Omaha Steaks also has a menu of high-quality cuts, that are generally lesser priced than other premium steak suppliers. In my most recent order, I went with:

  • Four 14 oz. Bone in NY Strips ($17.50 ea)
  • Two thick-cut 10 oz. Filet Mignon, called Chateaubriand Roasts on their website ($22.50 ea)
  • Eight 4 oz. Top Sirloin Filets ($3.50 ea) which were on sale when I checked out
  • Six 4 oz. Burgers, which Omaha threw in free
  • Six-piece set of steak knives, which were also free

Okay, I have tons of professional knives, so they got tossed, but they did look sharp. Top Sirloins are small at 4 oz. each, but I plan on using them as giant kabobs.

Omaha Steaks also has a menu of high-quality cuts, that are generally lesser priced than other premium steak suppliers.

I buy premium steaks all year long from some the most expensive companies on the Internet, but I also keep an inventory of Omaha Steaks becuase I get good volume at a good value.

Their coupons and coupon codes also keep me coming back, and their Customer Service is excellent! I highly recommend them.

I called just because I had a question. I didn't have to wait 20 minutes to speak to someone, and I didn't have to speak to one of the computer attendants. I thought their customer service was excellent, and right away I felt myself becoming a loyal customer.
I am one of those people that if I am unhappy with a meal at a restaurant or a product from a store, I just don't go back there. In the case of Omaha Steaks customer service, I did call because I had a question regarding the bone in strips I purchased.

It seemed to me that the butcher tried to cut down the bone of the Porterhouse, creating two bone in steaks: A strip and a filet. Basically that was my question. The person I spoke to knew of the bone in strips and has ordered them himself. He answered my question (No, they don't that) and shipped me four more for free.
Omaha Steaks packaging gets a thumbs up in my Omaha Steaks Reviews.
I had the Bone-in NYC Strips. I found the bone to be usually small, like they tried to cut the bone in half, which I didn't care for.

However, the steak was just outstanding! I though the quality of this beef compared equally to some of the biggest names in steak delivery services, and at $17.50 for a 14 oz. steak, I thought it was an exceptional value.

Next, I had the 10 oz. Filet Mignons, which they call Chateaubriand Roasts on their website. These were $22.50 each. A Chateaubriand is the center of a filet mignon roast. It comes with a premium price tag just because of this location.
The steaks are the thickest they can be here. However, one of my roasts appeared to be cut closer to the end of the whole filet mignon. You can see the tapered shape in the picture. Even so, the steak was also outstanding, and a great value at $22.50. I sliced the steaks thinkly and made giant steak finger sandwiches for my guests. It was a huge hit, and I got a lot of portions for my money.
Their commitment to excellent customer service, along with a vast assortment of combinations and packages guarantees that customers who buy with them will return again and again.

A great deal of information is available on their website about the handling, preparation, and cooking of their steaks.

They want to make sure that not only are you getting a great product, but also that you know what to do with it once it arrives at your home.

UPDATE: Okay, so I made some giant surf and turf kabobs, which came out pretty darn good if I say so myself.

I used the 4 oz. Top Sirloin Filets from Omaha Steaks and some Sea Scallops I purchased from Colorado Prime Foods.

I completed my kabobs with roasted onions and mushrooms. I was amazingly surprised by the quality of little steaks.

For $3.50 each (they were on sale) it's a no-brainer.
Now here is a BBQ Tip: I cooked all the components for these kabobs separately because they vary in size and cooking time. Then I skewed them on a kabob stick and presented them. This method works every time!
Last, I had the free burgers Omaha added to my order. They were free, making them a good value right off the bat, and they were actually pretty good. I wasn't expecting much, and I would say they were better than average.

I buy premium steaks all year long from some the most expensive companies on the Internet, but I also keep an inventory of Omaha Steaks becuase I get good volume at a good value.

Their coupons and coupon code also keep me coming back. I highly recommend them.
