My first meal was the Roasted Crab Cakes with Lobster Sauce. It came with a side of grilled corn, roasted red peppers and cut asparagus. The crab cakes are made from imitation crab meat, but they were good.

The real treat of this gourmet meal was the Lobster Sauce. It is very difficult to create a lobster stock where the flavor of fresh lobster comes through loud and clear. This sauce is amazing, and there is plenty of it to dip into every bite of crab cake.

This meal was well worth $10.49, in my opinion.
My next meal was the classic Spaghetti Bolognese, which was $8.02 on sale. I would not say this is classic experience one might have at a fine Italian restaurant that specializes in this dish, but it was very good. The sauce had the classic flavors, including red wine, but could have been a bit creamier. The pasta had a perfect texture, but the portion could have been a bit bigger. It was still a good value at $8.02.

One day, I may create my recommendations for the best prepared meals on the planet, and Home Bistro's Beef Tips in Burgundy Sauce will be in the running for the top award. The portion size is huge, but it's the tender beef in a perfect mushroom and burgundy wine sauce that makes the meal. This is what sous vide cooking is all about! If I could give it two "thumbs up" I would. This meal should cost much more than $11.19.

For just $8.95, the Turkey Meatloaf is another outstanding value. The meatloaf is not dry, which is very difficult to do with turkey meat because it is low in fat. My only reservation is that I wish the portion size was a little bigger, but it is still very good. The mashed potatoes are delicious too.

If you love Rack of Lamb like I do, you probably browse past them in the market, daydream about biting into the delicious lamb chops, but ultimately continue walking by because of the price. This meal was not on sale, but at $22.45, I get to enjoy perfectly prepared lamb chops, and satisfy my cravings for a few weeks. I don't know how they make money doing these at this price, so I hope you get to satisfy your cravings too. The little pearl onions in the peas a perfect textural bit of heaven too.

My passion for lamb doesn't extend to Lamb Shank as much as it does for Lamb Chops, but I enjoy them as a winter comfort food. This shank is once again expertly prepared, with the help of the sous vide cooking process, and a pleasure to enjoy. It comes with a mint sauce, which I didn't include in the picture. This meal is an excellent value at $15.39.

My Chicken Cacciatore was a very nice meal, and another good value at $8.99. The sauce is alive with robust flavors of onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and garlic. The chicken breast can be sliced and mixed with the sauce, but I chose to leave it whole for the picture.

To match my Turkey Meatloaf, I also ordered the Traditional Meatloaf. The portion size was larger, which I loved, and I found it to be very flavorful. The string beans were crunchy like fresh beans should be, and the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. A good value at $13.89, and far superior to meatloaf meals I have had from other suppliers.

My last meal from this company was the Bison Chili with Beans, served in a bread bowl. It is an excellent chili flavor, without being too spicy, making it an great value for $5.94. In fact, I bought a bunch as an appetizer for when I have guests over during the fall. I add some sharp cheddar cheese on top too. It's healthy and delicious!

Home Bistro is one of my favorite prepared meal delivery services because I love the sous vide cooking process, their high-quality menu, and their very affordable prices. Quality is the measure of what you get for the price you pay, and this company seems to keep hitting home runs every time I order from them.

It is very hard to find a flaw in these chef prepared meals that are sous vide. They can be reheated in a microwave, but I prefer to reheat them in a warm-water bath, which is the same way they were cooked. I used a counter-top appliance, so I can control the water temperature, which is set below boiling. Never boil these meals, or you will dry them out.

I also purchased these meals on sale because I subscribe to their weekly emails. Six of my eight meals qualified for 30% discounts. These meals are a good value at full price, but I was happy to save some money. I highly recommend you sign up for their emails.

It is believed this method of cooking will not cause food to be overcooked, and it will preserve the natural juices within the food.

Below you will see some of the products I have tried from this supplier. My review scoring is simple: I give each meal a thumbs up or a thumbs down based on the quality of the meal at the price I paid for it. A thumbs up means I would buy it again at the posted price.

I also take into consideration everything I think would be important to a consumer, including the shipping process, the condition of the goods received, the packaging, and the ease and quality of the reheating process. Below is my review based on the prepared meals I have tried.
