Overall, I was somewhat surprised and impressed by the food I purchased from Top Chef Meals. At $6.85 per meal, I was expecting low quality, and I am very happy to say I did not have that experience. The food was good, the portion sizes were average, and I found the meals to be a good value.
Not all was perfect, however. All of my breakfast meals had the seals on the packaging broken during shipping. I can be understanding about that, but a consumer may find it to be very annoying to purchase meals online, only to receive them with the seals on the packaging broken. I also did not get any heating instructions on my breakfasts. As a result, most of the meals were overcooked in the microwave. I did figure out a few by trial and error, but proper labels should be on every meal.
Some of the meals I had came with excess water in the trays. However, I was able to spoon out the meal components and enjoy the meal without issue. But aside from those issues, I thought these meals were a good value at $6.85.
The Chicken Parmesan in Marinara Sauce was good. A little on the smaller side compared to other vendors, but tasty. The Rotini Pasta maintained a proper texture, and the Steamed French Cut Green Beans could have used a little seasoning, but the meal was a good value at $6.85.
I liked the Meatloaf with Gravy. Again, the portion size of the entree was a little on the small size, but it did appear to me homemade. The Red Skin Potatoes with Butter was excellent and the Mixed Vegetable Blend is standard fare, but another good value.
The Meatballs with Marinara Sauce were very good. I would have liked to have a little more sauce, but they were still very good. The Roasted Butternut Squash Parmesan is special, and the Ratatouille made a nice side dish.
The Vegetable Cheese Lasagna was one of the meals that came with excessive water in the tray. It diluted the sauce a little, but not enough to say this was not a good meal. The Creamed Spinach and Herb Lentil Rice were very good.
Their Grilled Chicken with Natural Au Jus was delicious, and I would have paid more per meal to have a larger portion. The side potatoes and vegetables were good, too, and well worth $6.85.
I do not have luck with Beef Brisket, but this one was okay, and not dried out. The Steamed Zucchini and Corn Medley were spot on.
The Rigatoni Bolognese didn't pass my taste-drive only because the sauce wasn't a proper Bolognese. I am sure you can see from the picture it looks like the pasta was sprinkled with ground beef. There was not enough sauce, nor did I detect any cream. The Glazed Carrots were a little mushy, but the Herb Lentil Rice was excellent.
The Seared Salmon Cake was a treat to have in a meal that cost $6.85. I could have eaten a few of them easily. There is a limited selection of sides and vegetables with this company, so I had to reorder the Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Ratatouille.
The Grilled Chicken with Mushroom Sauce was good, but again small for my tastes. I had the Smashed Red Skin Potatoes with Butter and Creamed Spinach before, they were both good.
The Chicken Francaise with White Wine Lemon Sauce was beyond delicious - outstanding, actually. It was partnered with the same Herb Roasted Red Potatoes and Roasted Butternut Squash Parmesan I had before, but was good.
The Sliced Roast Turkey Breast with Gravy was also very nice. It was freshly sliced off a bird, and the gravy was passable. The Herbed Brown Rice with Dried Cranberries was great - be sure to get that, and Creamed Spinach was good as usual.
The Full American Breakfast was good and was made from real eggs. The portion size was small for a Full American Breakfast, but you get two, and it would still be a good value at $5.00 for two.
The Sausage, Egg and Cheese Scramble didn't reheat well in the microwave for me. Without heating instructions, I overcooked it, and it was as hard as a rock. I had to throw it out.
I had the same problem with the Pancakes and Sausage. In fact, they were so overheated I couldn't get them apart. However, I gave it a thumbs up for being $1.95, and I'm sure it would have been good if it came with proper directions.
The Apple Cobbler was everything you would expect a homemade apple cobbler to be and a good value at $2.25. You can't pay that little in a restaurant.
In my experience, when a Chef puts his name on a meal, it is usually above average. This Chef Richard's House-Made Cheesecake wasn't above average or even average, but it was a good value at $2.25.
However, Chef Neal's Outrageous Bread Pudding was outrageous, but not in a good way. It was more like a single slice of very bad French toast cut in half.
I do compliment the chefs for producing a compelling menu of good quality at a very economical price per meal. I would prefer to pay a little more for larger entree portions, but this company is an excellent value for comfort food.

Top Chef Meals Review
My Chef Review. Below you will see some of the products I have tried from this supplier. My review scoring is simple: I give each meal a thumbs up or a thumbs down based on the quality of the meal at the price I paid for it. A thumbs up means I would buy it again at the posted price.
I also take into consideration everything I think would be important to a consumer, including the shipping process, the condition of the goods received, the packaging, and the ease and quality of the reheating process. Here is my Top Chef Meals Review based on the meals I personally purchased:
